Check out Turkish artist Murat Palta's amazing illustration inspired by the Gates of Oblivion adventure and download wallpaper versions below.
We love Murat’s ability to create modern and fantastic scenes in the traditional old Ottoman miniature style, so we were very happy to collaborate with him on the creation of a unique Gates of Oblivion-inspired piece.
“This is the style in which I’ve been working for 10 years,” explains Murat. “I illustrate in traditional eastern art style, especially Ottoman art style, which is called ‘miniature’. Although I tend to make them look like as if they were popped out of a medieval manuscript, the topics are focused on pop culture and current events.”
For Murat, The Elder Scrolls has a lot to offer when it comes to blending the traditional and the modern.
“I’ve always liked the world of The Elder Scrolls series, not only in terms of storytelling, but also its visual language. I love inspecting in-game art while playing video games, and The Elder Scrolls is enriched with many unique races with their own styles, inscriptions, ornaments, and architecture. More than enough inspiration! On the other hand, miniature art perceives the world in a unique way, and there are rules when it comes to drawing hills, characters, demons, illumination etc. These two worlds combine well.”
